BSNL posts 1.48% growth in June

CHENNAI: BSNL was the fifth largest mobile operator in the country in monthly growth rate and in net addition of new customers in the month of June, the telecom operator has said citing data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

"BSNL achieved monthly growth rate of 1.48% beating all major private operators. According to the latest report, BSNL added more than 13.3 lakh new mobile customers, thereby increasing its market share from 8.54% to 8.65%. With this, BSNL has become the fifth largest mobile services company in the country," a release from BSNL said.

It also said after the launch of all India free roaming scheme since July last year, BSNL's wireless subscription addition and monthly growth rate had been increasing.

"BSNL was getting positive Mobile Number Portability (MNP) in the last financial year and is maintaining the same in 2016, with MNP port in request of more than 0.25 million per month since April 2016," the release said.
