BSNL Offering 56GB Data, Free Calling at Rs 339

BSNL, the Indian state-owned telecom company, has jumped into a war started by Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio, aiming at offering free data and voice calling at cheaper rates. Followed by all the major telecom operators like Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone, now it is BSNL’s turn to show what it can offer to its users and at what price.

The company is offering 56GB worth of high-speed data, and free unlimited local and STD on-net call at Rs 339, as opposed to that of Reliance Jio. Furthermore, BSNL users also get 25 minutes of local and STD off-net calls per day. There is another plan worth Rs 139 that includes unlimited local and STD on-net calls and 500MB data.

It should be noted that both these plans come with 28 days of validity. Despite BSNL’s 2GB data per day offer looks better than what other telcos are up to, it is valid for 90 days. In other news, BSNL recently started offering up to four times additional 3G data at the cost of Rs 36 per GB.

“We are committed to providing affordable and efficient services to all segment of our loyal mobile customers. We offer best prices to our customers considering [the] present trend of Indian telecom industry,” BSNL’s RK Mittal made a statement.
