BSNL Planning to Roll Out BSNL 4G and VoLTE Services

BSNL planning to roll out BSNL 4G and VoLTE services:

Based on the rumours, a point came out that BSNL will likely roll out 4G services by the end of this year. A new report now from the ultra news says that BSNL is very close to launching 4G services. By the Anupam Shrivastava, the report has revealed, the chairman and managing director of BSNL to the publication.

Today, he stated that “BSNL has to launch 4G services shortly.” He also said that during the financial year 17-18 BSNL would introduce VoLTE. Also, the operator will roll out VoLTE service as well alongside 4G mobile services.

BSNL has said earlier that it will launch 4G services very soon. Anyhow, by the end of 2019, with 5G commercial launch set to happen and BSNL under pressure for not even offering 4G mobile services in the country. So, we get 4G services by the end of the year 2019 and working to launch very soon.
It is seven years since BSNL has allocated the 4G (BSNL 4G) spectrum:

To remember, already it has seven years since BSNL has awarded the 4G spectrum. Officially, when the Reliance Jio rolled out its services, BSNL promised that it would match the newcomer tariff by tariff, and lived up to the promise by revealing some of the innovative plans.

He said that “we are already matching tariff by tariff, plan by plan.” With the BSNL another let down is the usage of spectrum for wireless services. BSNL makes use of only 10 MHz, unlike private operators who use about 50-60 MHz of spectrum.

In carrying more amount of data, the usage of less spectrum limits the player. The reports point that on 20 MHz spectrum, the BSNL will possibly launch 4G services which use Band 41 of LTE. Again it will raise the serious questions as the band 41 is not supported by most smartphones these days.

On a pan India, it has also said that the 4G services would not have rolled due to the shortage of spectrum. At present, with almost all the private operators, BSNL is going neck to neck in the tariff plans department. Very interesting to see that whether BSNL keeps its promise and launch 4G services in the country.
