BSNL to create NGN for better service

SHILLONG, Sept 9: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Meghalaya circle has started the process of creating of New Generation Network (NGN) switching units to improve its services in the state, even as they listed out the three new broad band schemes launched on Friday.

Note mentioning the government undertaking has always been under scanner for its service delivery especially in the rural areas of Meghalaya.
With 8300 broad customers, BSNL is trying to lure more customers under the new schemes, but the main question is whether the BSNL could really make a cut in this corporate digitalized completion that has entered the state.
BSNL General manager of Telecom department (GMTD) M Sujata said, “the new schemes varying from the Rs 249,Rs 499 and 1199 are user friendly that could counter the offers made by other service providers”.
However, the big question is how to they sell the new ‘combo’ offer to the customers when the services are below the expectations.  However, Sujata aided by his senior official Surajit Chakravorty agreed that there are some technical aberrations, yet was apt in adding that the coming equipments and gadgets will go a long way in addressing it.
With 800 broad band subscribers, 19, 0000 pre paid and 19000 post paid subscribers, BSNL Meghalaya assured that the new installations will make a different impact in their delivering services. Besides, the NGN and an additional 39 new towers will add to the service of the people.

As it is the BSNL broad band services is on ebb, if the public views are taken into considerations. But the BSNL officials alluded to certain snags related with the State government that deter their upgradation especially in the towns of Meghalaya. With multiple offers to the public to re-invent the BSNL touch with the customers within the state, the GMTD was categorical that the organization thrust is to reach the unreached and provide better services to the people. It may be mentioned that the BSNL shared its tower with other cellular phone providers in Meghalya. There are areas that the other networks are visible than the BSNL, a reason that most subscribers grieved.
