profit of Rs. 700 crores in 2016-17, the highest among all BSNL circles
in the country. BSNL Kerala circle earned a gross revenue of Rs. 3,104
crores in the last fiscal as against Rs. 2,955 crores during the

due to increase in business in the GSM (10%), Broadband, FTTH (43%) and
Enterprise Business segments.
In the last financial year, 1,950 3G new

BTSs of Nortel and Motorola were replaced with state-of-the-art
technology equipment of ZTE thereby improving quality and performance of
the GSM network. 71% of the circle is now covered with 3G service and
the target is to reach 90% by the year end. The Lakshadweep islands
which are part of the Kerala circle will have 10 new 2G and 12 3G sites
within three months, supported by a 300 Mbps backhaul via satellite,
thereby drastically improving the net connectivity.

the mobile prepaid segment to take on the private Telecom players and
there has been a substantial increase in the business. To improve
cashless transactions, 217 POS machines have been installed at Customer
Service Centres across the State.
With the introduction of new plans, BSNL
has been able to attract/bring back customers to the landline segment.
