People told to make use of BSNL offers

B.V. Kulkarni, Assistant General Manager, Raichur Division of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a Government of India undertaking, has appealed to the people to make use of attractive
offers that the public sector company had recently announced on the occasion of 70th Independence Day.

Addressing a press conference at his office in Raichur on Tuesday, he said that BSNL had introduced a new offering of unlimited calling to all service providers’ networks across India round-the-

clock on Sundays and between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. on other days.

“In addition to the free night calling across India to all networks introduced a year ago, BSNL has now introduced free-calling round the clock on Sundays to all networks across India. The facility is

applied both new and existing customers. The company has also introduced a promotional offer for new costumers in which they can use new landline service at a monthly fee of just Rs. 49 for the

first six months,” he said.

Asked about the frequent outages in landline services, he said that the problem was due to frequent damages inflicted on cables by ongoing civil works such as construction of roads and drains.

“When mobile communication has gained widespread popularity, BSNL is the only company that still continues to offer landline services for the benefit of people, with 10,000 landline customers in

the division. The service is based on physical cables laid across the city and they are being frequently damaged. Yet, we are continuously addressing outage issues and fixing them at the earliest

possible,” he said.

D.P. Rajkumar, Chief Account Officer, and other staff were present.
